Globalism in Our Day, in Scripture – Zechariah 11:4–17
4 Thus said the LORD my God: “Become shepherd of the flock doomed to slaughter. 5 Those who buy them slaughter them and go unpunished, and those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be the LORD, I have become rich,’ and their own shepherds have no pity on them. 6 For I will no longer have pity on the inhabitants of this land, declares the LORD. Behold, I will cause each of them to fall into the hand of his neighbor, and each into the hand of his king, and they shall crush the land, and I will deliver none from their hand.”
7 So I became the shepherd of the flock doomed to be slaughtered by the sheep traders. And I took two staffs, one I named Favor, the other I named Union. And I tended the sheep. 8 In one month I destroyed the three shepherds. But I became impatient with them, and they also detested me. 9 So I said, “I will not be your shepherd. What is to die, let it die. What is to be destroyed, let it be destroyed. And let those who are left devour the flesh of one another.” 10 And I took my staff Favor, and I broke it, annulling the covenant that I had made with all the peoples. 11 So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep traders, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the LORD. 12 Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” And they weighed out as my wages thirty pieces of silver. 13 Then the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—the lordly price at which I was priced by them. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD, to the potter. 14 Then I broke my second staff Union, annulling the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
15 Then the LORD said to me, “Take once more the equipment of a foolish shepherd. 16 For behold, I am raising up in the land a shepherd who does not care for those being destroyed, or seek the young or heal the maimed or nourish the healthy, but devours the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their hoofs.
17 “Woe to my worthless shepherd,
who deserts the flock!
May the sword strike his arm
and his right eye!
Let his arm be wholly withered,
his right eye utterly blinded!”
These Words from the Lord to Zechariah are both instructions to him about God’s people of that day, (Israel & Judah, approximately 500 A.D.) who had become absorbed with their own human accomplishments and come to a place where they totally ignore God and his ways, and prophetic words about the future. I believe these words are truly directed at us.
The Globalism of our day, to those that have turned from God seems to be man’s solution to all of the worlds problems. Individual beliefs (or those of Faith) are a huge obstruction to their lofty plans for mankind. From a Christian perspective, one has to be concerned about the foundation the plan is built upon rather than any specific step Globalists propose. The denial of God, and the encouragement to all men to Trust in Man to solve all world problems is a foundation that invites a Totalitarian World Regime, with absolute power. This resembles the System that is spoken of by John in Revelations. We must approach this with great care!
Remember the great tower built by the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:4) that was destroyed by God. The problem wasn’t the tower itself, but the fact that the people were so removed from God, and had become “sure” that they did not need God, but could reach Heaven in their own power! The swollen pride of man still exists.
In the beginning of the first century, the Apostle Paul wrote:
1 Corinthians 3:10–23
10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw—13 each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
16 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 21 So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Peter or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s
Bob’s Note Cont’d:
One World Government that is able to solve ALL of our problems is coming! It’s a Promise of the Father! It will therefore have a sure foundation and sound management! Any man, or group of men will still be fallible, and fail, bringing tragedy to a world already filled with turmoil. We need to examine what FOUNDATION they build upon before we blindly follow!
