Dear Desire of My Heart

Dear Desire:

Knowing you nightly has been a sweet pleasure indeed. I know we have met often in the past few years, (usually, late at night) but all relationships like ours must ultimately come to a sudden end.  I am writing you to let you know that I cannot meet you any more. While my strong desire and love for you continues, I find that I can no longer sneak behind my wife’s back for you, so It is good bye. No more nightly affairs and no more afternoon quickies. Oh, and please don’t try and get back into my life through our common friends and contacts as you have so often done in the past.  Our meetings in the past have been sweet and I will miss you greatly. My heart aches when I think about going on without you, but I must. As satisfying as it was, our relationship has become a heavy burden for me to carry. I now feel that I can no longer carry this load and can no longer consume your sweetness my love, my dear sweet “Bowl of Ice Cream”, so it’s… good bye.

Your Nightly Love,

Bob Nejedlo

NOTE:  (It’s late Friday night and I’ve just finished my last bowl of ice cream before beginning my new diet. I wrote this as I longingly considered how devastated I am without what truly has become “one of the loves of my life” represented by the empty bowl in front of me)
