White People Don’t Understand Racism!

Robert Morris, Pastor of Gateway Church:   “White People Don’t Understand the Depth of America’s Racism”
Is America Racist?

Pastor Morris used a water bottle with a 360 Degree label on its’ circumference to illustrate how important “walking around to the other side is” to gain the other sides perspective. It was a good illustration! I’ve heard him preach, and am relatively sure he went on to explain racism in more depth. However, the brief video posted on FB by Charisma, did not! I chose to follow it with this, my view;

I’m white, in today’s America, I have to say that almost apologetically! The simple story (with the bottle) on perspective, over simplifies the problem! Does racism occur in our Country? Yes! Just as it does world-Wide! Is America racist? No! Yes, we have bigots! We also have Murderers, Thieves and Kidnappers! But those are individuals who go against our culture as a Country! We aspire to great ideals expressed and recorded by our forefathers! These ideals have caused many to lay down their lives to further them on to the present day. Dying during the Revolutionary, Civil and other wars. Many northern white kids died to fight against racism in our Civil War! The complicated political truth is that we all have to stand up to Individual bigots! But, we need to stop making general accusations of racism based on color! To me, being called “Racist” is as bad as being called “N****r”! The simple Christian truth is; We all need to start loving and stop hating!
